HE EFFECT OF COLOURS.

The way you decorate and the colors you choose will all have an effect on the atmosphere of the room. Light colors will give the space a sunnier, happier feel. Shades of white and light beige will give the room a sense of openness and purity. Grey tones make a room peaceful and cool while brown colors will have a natural or rustic feel. A black floor adds sophistication and elegance and gives a room a powerful yet dramatic edge.

THINK ABOUT THE ROOM SIZE

No matter how big or small the room is, the color of your floor will always have a major impact on the feeling of space you get in a room. If you have a large room, darker tones make the room seem smaller and cozy. This works in reverse as well if your room is smaller then a lighter tone will really open up the space.

USE THE LIGHT

Every room type has its own unique lighting and throughout the day, the lighting in your room changes. Judging a floor sample color at night, in artificial light, will give you a very different impression than during mid-afternoon in the natural sunlight. Always test samples during different times of the day with different lighting.

BIG PICTURE

Don’t choose your floor color in a room that’s empty, make sure it also matches the broader style and feel you want to give your interior. If you want to emphasize the furniture as the main focal point, use natural colors, that will create a neutral canvas. Brown and burgundy tints are the best suited for a traditional interior. Having the samples in your room will make your decision a lot easier.
