  • Care
  • Repairs & Maintenance

Q. What is the difference between luxury vinyl tile, luxury vinyl plank, and sheet vinyl flooring?

Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring are made into smaller sections in the shape of stone tile or hardwood flooring planks. These sections mimic the look and feel of stone/ceramic tiles and hardwood flooring planks. Sheet vinyl flooring is more traditional, made from long rolls of continuous vinyl.

Q. Where can I install Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring?

Luxury Vinyl Tile is versatile and can be installed in virtually any room. The mix of fashionable style and extreme durability of luxury vinyl flooring makes the floor ideal for heavy traffic environments like hospitals, schools, retail, offices, hospitality and more. Our LVTs are superior in wear resistance and can be suited for hallways, walkways, and more. The water-resistant qualities of vinyl flooring also enables it to be installed in rooms with increased moisture or below-grade rooms like basements, laundry rooms, and bathrooms.

Q. What do LVT and LVP mean?
LVT – Luxury Vinyl Tile, a type of vinyl flooring made to emulate the look of stone or ceramic flooring, with the added benefits of vinyl.
LVP – Luxury Vinyl Plank, made to mimic hardwood flooring.
Q. What is a floating floor?

A floating floor is a floor built with all its parts attached to each other but with none of these component parts fixed to the supporting floor. Some LVT floors install as floating floors.

Q. Can luxury vinyl tile (LVT) be used in a bathroom?

Yes. That is a huge benefit to LVT to other flooring options. You can have the same flooring throughout your entire home including the bathroom because LVT is waterproof. Meaning all that water, steam, and moisture that occur on a regular basis will not affect the LVT.

Q. Is luxury vinyl tile (LVT) a good flooring for pet owners?

Absolutely, LVT is the best flooring option for indoor pet owners if your beloved pet has an accident, tracks in mud, or drags something unidentifiable into your home, don’t fret. Your flooring will hold up to the challenge. Simply put, the combination of its durability, scratch resistance, and waterproof characteristics makes it the ideal flooring choice for pet lovers.

Q. Can luxury vinyl tile (LVT) be used in a business?

LVT does have a commercial grade product approved for use in any commercial building. LVT is perfect for high traffic areas and holds up extremely well to the everyday wear and tear that commercial buildings face.

Q. Can LVY flooring be installed in my screened in porch or patio?

No, LVT flooring must be installed in a climate-controlled area.

Q. Can Luxery Vinyl Tyle be installed over carpet?

No, all carpet and padding should be removed completely prior to installation.

Q. How is luxury vinyl tile (LVT) installed?

LVT has two types of installations methods; one is floating, where there is no adhesive, nails, or staples used and simply held together with a locking system, two, glue down, where an adhesive is used to directly attach the flooring to the sub-floor.

Q. How do I repair minor scratches?

Minor scratches or nicks can be repaired with laminate floor repair paste. This can be purchased in most retail flooring stores.

Q. Is luxury vinyl tile (LVT) better than ceramic tile?

Yes. Luxury vinyl tile is more durable than ceramic tile because you don’t have to worry about it cracking or chipping if you drop something on the floor. It is also much faster and easier to install than ceramic tile. Luxury vinyl tile will not feel cold on your feet in the winter like ceramic tile and is much easier to maintain because there is no grout to clean.
